I have to admit that my head is spinning with the number of different Dwight Howard trade stories that have circulated this year.
I’m nearing the end of my rope on how much more I can hear, so I’m happy that the NBA trade deadline is tomorrow — we’ll be able to put the trade rumors to rest and focus on basketball for the rest of the year.
The latest news yesterday is that Dwight Howard now says he wants to stay with the Orlando Magic. Well, at least for the rest of this season.
“Well, I told those guys, I’ve been telling them for the past two or three weeks now that I want to stay and finish the season,” Howard said.
Ummmm…just this season?
What Mr. Howard seems to forget is that the Magic want a longer term commitment, or they’re at risk of losing him to free agency this summer — and in that case they’d get nothing in return.
Well, it appears that he’s going to stay with the Magic for now, and we’ll have to hear more about this story at come free agency time this summer.
