As the NBA regular season winds to an end, the scoring title is still on the line down to the final game.
It’s amazing to me that Kobe Bryant and Kevin Durant are so close each other after an entire (albeit shortened) season.
Kobe needs 38 points tonight against the Sacramento Kings in order to get his third overall scoring title. Durant is looking for his third straight title.
Specifically, Kobe is currently averaging 27.86 points, and Durant averaged 28.03 points for the season.
I haven’t read any articles on this, but I would presume that since the Lakers don’t have any playoff positioning on the line, Kobe shouldn’t get a ton of playing time, and Kobe shouldn’t even approach 38 points?
We’ll see…..perhaps I’m underestimating the vanity of Kobe and NBA players in general.
