Unrestricted Free Agents, Round 2

The first post about the unrestricted free agents was popular, as well as the discussion of the restricted free agents, so I figured I’d dig back into the list of available free agents in this summers class and mention a few more names.

  • Jason Richardson. He didn’t have the easiest time fitting in with the Orlando Magic after the trade from the Phoenix Suns, but he can still torch the basketball net with his shooting every now and then, with his nearly 40% shooting from 3 point range last year.
  • JR Smith. Speaking of lighting up the nets (even chain basketball nets), shooters don’t get any streakier than JR Smith. When he’s on, he’s on. When he’s not, get him off the court, because he makes a ton of bone-headed decisions.
  • Tayshaun Prince. He hasn’t received a ton of attention in recent years due to the poor performance of the Pistons. However, he’s still got some game left in him, and he’s a great defender.
  • Jamal Crawford. Another good shooter, who sometimes goes through stretches where he’s a great shooter. Was a 6th Man of the Year receipient, and can really put up some points.
  • JJ Barea. This fireplug turned alot of heads during the playoffs last year with his fine performances. I still don’t understand how this 6 foot guy got off all those shots in the lane near the hoop among the trees. Will be interesting to see if the Mavs pay up to keep him.
